I am very interested in reading Max Mueller's writing on an issue that is dear to me. I am an African-American member of the church, and am presently compiling a comprehensive bibliography on African-Americans in the LDS Church, from 1830 to 2010. I have done previous works on the subject, and one such project was published in Dialogue: A Journal of Mormon Thought back in 1992. My interests in this subject has not been diminished at all. The issue of rac in the LDS church will always be a troubling subject to wrestle with, when there is absence of a key messenger within the leadership being involved to help heal the wounds of racism that continues to plagued the church. I am interested in knowing what Max Mueller has to say about that. Because I am very concern as to the fact that we are allowing the outside forces to speak for us. Thanks for allowing me to share my thoughts.

Welcome Max! I am looking forward to reading your posts about early black pioneers in Utah - that topic has been on my mind quite a lot lately. We're excited to have you here at JI.

Welcome, Max. We're fans of research on Mormon race relations, so we're looking forward to your contributions.

This could be dangerous, y'all. Last time I had a conversation with Max, his research sounded so interesting, and his description of it was so engaging that I spent the afternoon downloading grad school applications.

I'm told he also dragged his wife around Utah doing research during their honeymoon, which, I guess, is an interesting reversal of "Kidnapped by the Mormons"

Looking forward to your posts, Max!
